Sports Coach
Reporting to:
Centre Director/Head Professional of Sport
Qualifications: Level 2 / equivalent or above coaching qualification in one or more of the following sports:-Football, Rugby, Basketball, Hockey, Golf ,Tennis or Horse Riding.
Salary: Attractive salaries start from £200.00 per week plus there are increments payable for experience, additional relevant sports coaching qualifications, first-aid and child protection.
Working Day: A Sports Coach has responsibility for the smooth running of one or more of our Sports Courses. This will mean a great deal of planning and preparation to ensure that the programme is successful. In the mornings you will oversee the preparation for the sport to ensure that each day the course is carried out to the acceptably high standard required at Exsportise. You will also be required to assist the Centre Manager and other members of staff on a daily basis as and when necessary. This role involves, when you are on duty, supervising students at all times appropriately and according to their age and motivating staff involved with the sport you are coaching. You may also have to help by leading groups on excursion days, meet and drop off students who require airport transfers / train station collections , assist with the Evening Entertainment Programme, wake-up/bedtimes and meal time supervision
Time Off: 1 day + 1 session off per day. A session is either morning, afternoon or evening.
Main Duties: Responsibility for the smooth running of the appropriate sports programme at the centre, ensuring that high standards are followed and guidelines in particular in relation to student safety are fully adhered to at all times.
Building and motivating a team of positive and responsible staff and managing them in a professional manner
Structuring the sports course to ensure that all students have an equal and balanced share of all elements of their chosen sport.
Having a well-prepared daily and weekly programme. Making and checking all necessary arrangements e.g. transportation, timings, facilities, equipment and having suitable wet weather arrangements where and when necessary. Encouraging students to use English at all times. Always collecting receipts if making purchases for Summer School. Presenting junior staff with clear information and instructions in order to enable them to carry out the their roles at the camp. Observing when and where necessary and giving constructive feedback as well as ensuring that staff are carrying out your directions correctly. Organising any extra tuition sessions that are requested. Dealing with staff or student problems relating to their sports course. Working closely with other members of the camp team and attending daily staff meetings
Essential Qualities:
Previous experience of summer schools
Extensive knowledge of your sports
Understanding of Health & Safety issues
Professional experience with children

Ability to motivate and lead staff
