Reporting to: General Manager and Managing Director
Qualifications: Although no specific qualifications are necessary for the position of Centre Director, we would expect someone applying for this position to have extensive managerial experience, as well prior experience of working in summer schools.
Salary:
The salary for Centre Directors is in the region of £650.00 per week
Working Day: The working day is extremely varied due to the nature of the job. The Centre Manager needs to be aware of the hour-by-hour environment of camp so that he/she can act immediately to anticipate any potential problems and deal with them. No two working days will be the same and the nature of Summer School means that the job does not have a regular routine as such.
Time Off:
1 day off per week
Main Duties:
Full responsibility for the successful operation of the centre and the overall responsibility for up to 200 students per week and staff
Full responsibility for honest operation and recording of monetary dealings on course
Overall responsibility for the smooth running of the centre
Working closely with other members of the Senior Team to constantly ensure standards of all courses are met
Ensuring all staff are aware of individual responsibilities and daily duties. Providing a weekly review of each staff member.
Ensuring that standards of external services are acceptable by constantly monitoring them
Ensuring that visitors are warmly welcomed to the centre and are properly looked after during their visit
Dealing with student and staff problems that cannot be satisfactorily resolved by other staff members
Organising airport transfers in liaison with the Centre Administrator and Head Office.
Welcoming all students personally and preparing a welcome talk
Following the Children's Act
Leading or assisting in daily staff meetings
Liaising daily with the Head Office to maintain open channels for support or information
Drawing up staff rotas and staff time-off rotas
