- This week in English our students have been learning about the village where Clayesmore School is situated – Iwerne Minster and the ghost stories behind the village’s history. They have also been focusing on how to ask and answer questions and the grammar that is involved.
- Football this week involved an excursion to the Emirates Stadium to witness an incredible match, where Arsenal beat Lyon 6-0 in the Emirates Cup. Our sessions involved the students practising one on one skills, being able to obtain possession of the ball, attacking principles were covered including overload and combination play with much emphasis put on passing.
Throughout weekly training they have focused on handling skills, communication, speed onto the ball, attacking and creating space and also improving tactics and strategies. Whilst providing a great opportunity for players to communicate in English.
The music classes are split into 2 sessions. Both are putting a lot of work in and covering songs by Paloma faith and lost frequencies with 2 vocalists and 2 guitarists, and Imagine Dragons and Jamie Lidell with one lead vocalist and 2 pianists.
Throughout the week tennis has mainly focused on ground strokes including the forehand and backhand. The younger children have also worked on underarm serves to help with their stroke development. They finish today with a camp tournament.
Dance has worked really hard this week and they have three production on the go including Chicago, Mama Mia and Uptown Funk
