It has been quite a week at Arsenal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has just completed his move from Borussia Dortmund, and the buzz around the club is palpable. There is a sense that something is shifting at the Emirates, and that energy extends well beyond the first team. For the hundreds of young footballers who join our Arsenal Soccer Schools programme every summer, 2018 is shaping up to be a very exciting year indeed.

Why 2018 feels different

The arrival of Aubameyang has given the whole club a lift. He is exactly the kind of signing that captures the imagination of young players, quick, dynamic, and capable of moments that make you jump off your seat. Combined with Mesut Ozil's creativity and Alexandre Lacazette's movement, Arsenal's attacking options look as exciting as they have in years.

That excitement feeds directly into what we do during the summer. When children arrive at an Arsenal Soccer Schools camp, they come buzzing about the players they have watched all season. They want to finish like Aubameyang, they want to play through the lines like Ozil, and they want to press with intensity the way Arsene Wenger's side does at its best. Our UEFA B qualified coaches channel all of that enthusiasm into structured, purposeful coaching sessions that develop real footballing ability.

A brand new venue joins the family

This summer, we are thrilled to welcome Worth School to the Arsenal Soccer Schools programme. Set in 500 acres of beautiful West Sussex countryside, Worth is a stunning boarding school with outstanding sports facilities and the kind of green, open campus that makes residential summer camps feel truly special.

Worth joins our existing venues to give us four top-quality locations across England. Alongside Clayesmore in Dorset, Oundle near Cambridge, and Seaford on the Sussex coast, Worth adds another excellent option for families looking for a residential football camp in England. Each school offers full-size pitches, modern accommodation, and the kind of setting that boarding school campuses are famous for.

What happens at an Arsenal Soccer Schools camp?

The programme is designed for boys and girls aged 9 to 17, and we welcome around 600 to 1,000 students every summer from more than 60 countries. It is a genuinely international environment, and the friendships that form between students from different backgrounds are one of the most rewarding parts of the whole experience.

Every student receives three hours of Arsenal coaching per day, delivered by official Arsenal Soccer Schools coaches at a ratio of no more than one coach for every ten students. Sessions cover technical skills, tactical awareness, small-sided games, and full match play. The coaching follows Arsenal's methodology, so your child learns to play football the Arsenal way, with an emphasis on passing, movement, and intelligent decision-making.

Alongside the football, every student also receives three hours of English language tuition per day. The classes are British Council accredited, taught in small groups, and designed to improve confidence and fluency in a relaxed, supportive setting. For international families, this combination of high-level football coaching and genuine English language development is what makes the programme so distinctive.

Students who stay for two weeks or more also get the chance to visit the Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club. It is always one of the highlights of the summer, and the look on a young Gunner's face when they walk down the tunnel for the first time is something you do not forget.

Every student goes home with an official Arsenal Soccer Schools shirt and water bottle, along with a certificate recognising their participation and development throughout the programme.

The full residential experience

This is not a drop-off day camp. Students live on-site at some of England's finest boarding schools, with full board accommodation, evening activities, and weekend excursions all included in the fee. Our welfare team is on hand around the clock, and the pastoral care is something we take as seriously as the coaching.

The evening programme is a big part of what makes the experience memorable. Discos, quizzes, talent shows, and inter-house competitions all help students relax, socialise, and build friendships that often last for years.
