Our Hockey Academy and English Summer Camp near London is designed for players of all abilities, from serious hockey players to those who love to play. At the beginning of each week, players are assessed using a skills test and placed into groups based on their ability, ensuring that every player is challenged and supported at the right level.
The English plus Hockey camp programme provides focused, intensive training to improve core skills, tactical awareness, individual technique, and overall knowledge of the game. Through a balance of core drills, conditioned games, and plenty of match play, players work on both the physical and technical aspects of hockey while enjoying their time on the pitch and developing their communication-based English skills with their teammates.
For advanced and experienced players, the programme offers a higher level of coaching. This can include elements such as video analysis, tactical theory, and self-assessment, helping players to deepen their understanding of the game and prepare for future competition. They are encouraged to analyse their own performance, set objectives for the season ahead, and improve decision-making under match conditions.
Our international player approach provides students with the opportunity to experience what it takes to perform at the highest level. With high-level hockey players from top European clubs such as HC Bloemendaal, HTC Uhlenhorst, and El Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, participants experience first-hand the standards of hard work, intensity, and competition required to succeed in international hockey. Training covers agility, fitness, tactical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and the mental side of performance.
Coaching sessions are designed and delivered by some of the very best in the sport, including full-time FIH and EHA qualified coaches who bring international and Olympic coaching experience, ensuring every session reflects world-class standards. Beyond technical training, they mentor students in agility, fitness, mindset, and overall sporting attitude, helping to build well-rounded athletes. Alongside on-pitch sessions, specialist workshops support player development. Topics include injury prevention, sports psychology, and match preparation – providing students with the tools to perform at their best both on and off the field.
Benefits and results
Hockey offers social and athletic benefits to its players. If you are confident in a hockey team, you are confident in social situations on and off the pitch.
At the end of the course, players can take our International Skills Test (standardised challenge), which allows them to compare their performance against a database of other international players of the same age group, providing an overall score and ranking amongst top players. Each hockey player will also receive tailored feedback to help them improve when they return to their home hockey club.
