Programme Summary
Our English Plus Horse Riding Summer Camps, designed and led by UK-accredited stables and qualified riding instructors, provide students with the opportunity to develop confidence in riding and horse handling while experiencing a truly international residential environment. Located at our Worth School partner stables on the Epsom Downs near London, close to the renowned Epsom Racecourse, and at our Oundle School partner stables near Cambridge, children aged 9 to 17 learn within safe, professional settings trusted by parents year after year.
Each week features 15 hours of horse riding and stable management, covering topics such as dressage and competition show jumping, as well as posture, grooming and tack care. Additionally, students complete 15 hours of English with Exsportise’s British Council-accredited English language school, combining academic progress with the excitement of a residential horse riding summer camp in the UK.

Programme Details
Exsportise provides an immersive environment for improving English skills and learning horse riding.
At our English Plus Horse Riding Summer School, our team of experienced and qualified horse riding instructors carefully matches each rider with the appropriate horse, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. Riders complete a questionnaire beforehand and are then assessed upon arrival. They are subsequently placed into small groups based on their ability. Tuition aims to build confidence and improve riding technique.
During the week, riders progress through a structured programme (3 hours daily) that includes flatwork, dressage, show jumping, hacks across the scenic English countryside, and preparation for competitions. All training concludes with a fun Competition Day, where riders participate in a dressage test and a show jumping round tailored to their level, ranging from ground poles for beginners to full courses for advanced riders.
Stable and horse management are key parts of the daily routine alongside riding lessons. Students learn to groom, prepare, tack, and care for their horses, as well as understand the equipment used and the anatomy of horses. Tuition is delivered in English, helping students improve their language skills both in the classroom and around the stables with their international peers.
Those with more experience may choose to work towards the internationally recognised BHS Challenge Awards, which explore areas such as posture, rider fitness, horse psychology, anatomy, first aid, feeding and equine welfare in greater depth. This offers a comprehensive introduction to life with horses and the standards expected at accredited riding schools.
To join our UK horse riding academy, students must have at least one year’s previous riding experience. All participants should bring their own body protector if they wish to wear one, and hats must meet UK Pony Club standards.
Benefits and results
At the end of the summer camp, each student receives a personalised feedback report that highlights their progress and offers guidance to help them continue improving as riders beyond the camp. Participating in our English plus horse riding programme also enables children to make new friendships, develop teamwork skills, and gain confidence in using English in real-life situations, making the experience both socially enriching and educational.
