ON-SITE MEDICAL CARE

Medical Officers will give students common non-prescription medicines such as paracetamol unless you advise us in writing not to do so.

Each centre is near to a general medical practice and appointments with doctors can be made if necessary.

PRE-PRESCRIBED MEDICATION

Each centre has a Medical Room where your child can go to take their medicine under supervision.

Any prescribed medicine must

  • Be stored in the original container in which it was dispensed (not in a pill box /organiser)

  • Clearly marked with the name of the medicine

  • Name of the child the medicine is prescribed for

  • The date the medicine was prescribed

  • The dosage, time and frequency of administration

  • Be appropriate for the student’s age

Where more than one medicine is prescribed, these should both be stored in a separate, clearly marked, containers.

All medicine brought in by students must have an English translation, otherwise, it cannot be administered at Exsportise. Such medication will be confiscated and returned to the student on departure from camp.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS

It is important that we receive accurate information about any pre-existing medical conditions your child may have. Please note that Exsportise accepts students on the assumption that they are in good health.

ALL MEDICINES MUST BE HANDED INTO THE MEDICAL ROOM FOR SAFE AND CORRECT STORAGE, MUST BE LABELED IN ENGLISH AND APPROPRIATE FOR THE CHILD’S AGE.

EUROPEAN HEALTH INSURANCE CARD

If you live in a country that is part of the European Union, please make sure that your child comes to camp with a European Health Insurance Card (E111).  This will ensure that they can be seen by a UK doctor at no cost and without delay.

Please note that the cover provided by this card is very limited (dental treatment is not included) and is no substitute for travel insurance.
