Role Overview
As an Airport/St Pancras Supervisor responsible for overseeing the arrival and departure of our students at an international airport or St Pancras International, you play a crucial role in ensuring their safety, security, and comfort. This position demands a keen eye for detail, strong organisational and communication skills, and a deep sense of responsibility. You will coordinate and manage all aspects of student transportation services at the airport and all airport staff and facilitate a smooth and stress-free experience for the children and their parents or guardians.

The Airport / St Pancras International Supervisor oversees student pick-ups and drop-offs at designated airports / station, warmly greeting arrivals, ensuring waiting times stay under 2 hours, and maintaining constant supervision for safety. They act as the main point of contact for staff, drivers, airlines, and unaccompanied minors (UMs), managing issues like delays, lost luggage, or immigration hold-ups while updating the Database Transport Scheduler and live flight / train info for Head Office transparency. Additional duties include leading communications via instant messaging groups, supporting new staff with training, coordinating briefings / debriefings, assisting with welfare needs, and demonstrating flexibility for extended peak-hour shifts to ensure smooth, secure transfers.

Job Specific Personal Specification & Qualifications
Well-travelled with familiarity of general airport procedures, including arrivals, departures, security, and airline/Eurostar protocols.
Organised and responsible, with effective problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations calmly.
Proactive and able to anticipate issues before they arise, ensuring smooth operations.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with people at all levels including students, parents, staff, and external partners.
Strong leadership skills, able to manage, motivate, and support on-duty airport staff confidently.
Able to maintain composure and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress airport environment.
Enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for students and staff.
Flexible and adaptable attitude toward working hours, including readiness for long or irregular shifts during peak arrival and departure times.
Caring and compassionate nature, demonstrating empathy and attentiveness to student welfare and wellbeing.
Able to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required, showing reliability and professionalism at all times.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student safety, with an understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
Desired
Good command of European languages such as French, German, Italian, Spanish, enhancing communication with diverse student groups.
Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an international or residential setting to understand their needs and welfare.
