Role Overview
As an EFL teacher, your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent English language instruction. With the support of the DOS, you will be expected to plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and participate in creating a secure and positive atmosphere that fosters learning and enjoyment.
Band 2 teachers mainly teach on the English Foundation pathway but may also lead advanced, discussion-based workshops for Sport Only students and mature and confident English users on the Step Up English pathway.

As a Band 2 teacher you deliver a meaningful, dynamic, interactive language programme responsive to students' needs, producing high-quality English Foundation lessons (A1-C1) covering skills development, functional language, collaborative projects, and Exsportise Language Cup. You may also plan / deliver workshops for sport-only students on topics like mental performance, physical health, cultural awareness, leadership, and performance analysis, and facilitate advanced Step Up sessions (B2-C2) with student-led seminars, presentations, debates, and discussions. Maximum teaching contact is 310 minutes daily or 25.8 hours weekly.
You take full responsibility for students’ safety, welfare, and behaviour during EFL never leaving unattended, actively support Director of Studies with department running including placement testing / exams / feedback / behaviour / teacher support / CPD, comply with Exsportise Teacher standards, liaise on weekly planning / feedback, communicate clear learning outcomes ticked off for progress, maintain notebooks with work/corrections / self-reviews, enforce no-phone policy (including break times) encouraging connections, complete admin (lesson plans / profiles / registers / logs), write accurate weekly progress reports, and create vibrant classroom displays
Additional Duties
You attend daily staff meetings, follow Staff Handbook / Centre Manager / DoS guidelines, assist camp setup/pack-down, and carry out other reasonable duties for smooth operations.

Job Specific Personal Specification & Qualifications
To be suitable for this role, you need to hold a recognised teaching qualification in English language teaching or education. This could be a CELTA, Trinity TESOL (or equivalent), or a formal teaching qualification such as a PGCE in English/Modern Foreign Languages or QTS for primary teaching. You hold native or near-native competence in English (minimum CEFR level C2) and possess a first degree or equivalent qualification. You have at least one year’s teaching experience, preferably with international young learners. You are highly organised with excellent time management skills to plan and deliver effective lessons within a busy summer programme. Your excellent communication skills combined with an enthusiastic and friendly attitude help foster positive rapport with students and staff. You are willing to embrace the residential summer school culture, understanding its unique demands and lifestyle. You maintain professionalism through smart appearance and appropriate language, are flexible and adaptable regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ideally, you hold an advanced teaching qualification such as DELTA, Trinity Dip. TESOL (or equivalent). A Master’s degree in TESOL or Linguistics, a specialism in teaching young learners, prior experience in residential summer schools, and experience working with mixed‑nationality groups are also highly desirable.
