Role Overview
Assistant Academy Coaches split their time between assisting in delivering coaching sessions in their chosen Specialist Academy and delivering the evening and weekend activities. Ensuring the students’ safety, welfare, and enjoyment at Exsportise. Assistant Academy Coaches will support students in all aspects of their daily routine while with us.

Take shared responsibility for the welfare, well-being, and happiness of all Exsportise students throughout their stay.
Help deliver high-quality coaching plans, including warm-up, stretching, cool-down, and setting up exercises
Assist with recording of level testing and progress reporting for each player
Engage with students during breaks, encourage positive behaviour, ensure camp rules are followed (including phone restrictions) and foster social interaction.
Help ensure all activity and sports equipment is prepared, well-maintained, safely stored after use
Assist with the organisation and running of evening events led by the Events Managers, promoting student engagement and participation.
Take an active role in supervising students on weekend excursions and assisting with student arrivals and departures
Carry out mealtime, wake-up, and bedtime duties on a rota basis, being responsible for registers and ensuring student safety and integration in the boarding houses.
Actively ensure students attend activities, are eating well, and are socialising and integrating with others
Foster inclusion and a supportive, energetic atmosphere across all activities and in the boarding areas, acting as a role model.
Follow all guidelines in the Staff Handbook and as provided by senior staff, including safeguarding, child protection, and incident reporting policies
About you
We look for Team Members who are: (Personal Specification & qualifications)
Minimum qualification for your chosen activity (must be valid to coach in the UK):
Basketball: “Introduction to Coaching” (was Level 1) or higher
Dance: NATD Level 3 Dance Teaching Assistant or higher, or minimum grade 6 in dance
Football: “Introduction to Coaching Football” (was Level 1) or higher
Golf: single figure handicap player
Hockey: Level 1 (no longer in operation) / Introduction Hockey Coaching Workshop or higher, or national league playing experience
Rugby: Level 1 or higher
Tennis: “LTA Assistant” (was Level 1) or higher
Volleyball: Level 1 / “Assistant Coach Award” or higher
If less than Level 1, then extensive coaching experience and/or playing experience of min. national league
If qualified, a valid First Aid Certificate (in-date and relevant to uphold the coaching qualification)
Ability to motivate and engage students of varying ages and abilities
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic, approachable, friendly, reliable attitude, showing initiative
Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules and duties
Awareness and adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies
Professionalism in appearance, conduct, and language
Willingness to participate fully in camp life, including supervising meals, free time, and excursions
Commitment to being fully present and engaged during activities, including a willingness to limit personal phone usage to maximise interaction with students and colleagues - act as a positive role model
Cultural sensitivity and an ability to work inclusively with diverse student groups
Initiative and self-motivation to contribute beyond assigned duties
Willingness to receive feedback and engage in continuous professional development

You will have to prove your Right to Work in the UK
You must provide the details of two recent and relevant (professional) referees
You will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS), and equivalent if you live, or have lived, outside of the UK (Police check)
You will be asked to state that you have no known reason why you cannot work with children
Official identification and certificates will be required for our records

Working Conditions:
Rota & Days Off: Rotas and days off are scheduled by the Centre Manager. Any adjustments need their approval. Employees will work 6 days a week, with one dedicated 24-hour off period.

Working Hours: Hours vary depending on the shift worked. Weekend days are longer than weekdays. House & meal duties are on rota basis.
Welfare & Intensity: Our programmes require commitment and are action-packed. Days can be long and demanding. Regardless of being on or off duty, Exsportise is committed to safeguarding and prioritising the welfare of students and staff is paramount.
Accommodation: Staff housing is provided at the course centre, a single room with shared bathroom facilities.
Dress Code: When overseeing activities, sportswear is required, so please avoid excessively short or revealing attire.
Alcohol, Smoking and Substance abuse: Given your role with children, the possession and consumption of alcohol and substance abuse is strictly prohibited on site or during working hours. Smoking, including the use of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) such as e-cigarettes, vapes etc. is only permitted in designated smoking areas and when off duty.
As part of the onboarding process, you will be asked to attend an online/in person meeting/event before the start of our courses.
