Role Overview
Events Managers, usually two per school, are responsible for planning, organising, and executing various evening and free-time activities. You duties may include developing event concepts and themes, creating budgets, coordinating logistics, managing timelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing a team of staff and overseeing event operations. Additionally, Events Managers will prioritise the students' safety, welfare, and overall enjoyment while working to deliver an outstanding experience.
Example events include Cool Runnings Bobsleigh Night, Sports Disco, Exsportise's Got Talent, Races/Casino Night, Challenge Night (vs. Staff), alongside integration and welcome events and sports nights (Dodgeball tournament, Tag Football).

(divided / shared by 2 Events Managers per school):
Plan and deliver a varied and innovative weekly evening entertainment and social programme for all age groups
Organise activities during daytime breaks and for students arriving early or departing late
Complete risk assessments and budgets (with Centre Manager approval)
Incorporate the “Team Orange” philosophy, fostering personal growth, social confidence, and self-awareness among young people.
Provide the Centre Manager with a weekly programme schedule
Coordinate logistical aspects such as scheduling, staffing, equipment, and supplies
Engage and excite students about evening activities
Take responsibility for student and staff welfare and discipline during the evening programme, maintaining a safe environment.
Supervise and train evening staff, fostering a well-prepared, motivated, and collaborative team.
Liaise with external suppliers and organise transportation for off-site events
Organise student groups and assign staff appropriately
Run evening entertainment meetings for both staff and students
Organise separate events for younger and older students twice weekly
Maintain equipment and ensure health and safety compliance
Support additional activities, including airport transfers, excursions, student check-ins, and creating camp videos, contributing to a comprehensive experience.
Support students’ wellbeing and happiness, assisting with pastoral care throughout their stay at camp.
Supervise mealtimes, wake-up, and bedtime duties on a rota basis
About you
We look for Team Members who are: (Personal Specification & qualifications)
Native or near-native English competence (minimum CEFR level C1)
Previous experience working with children and leading events or trips, ideally in a residential setting
Highly organised and responsible character with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Strong leadership skills and the ability to engage, motivate, and manage staff and students
Excellent communication skills with people of all levels
Cultural sensitivity and an ability to work inclusively with diverse student groups
Capacity to deal well with pressure and multi-task
Enthusiastic, friendly, and proactive personality
Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours
Awareness and adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies
Professionalism in appearance, conduct, and language
Willingness to participate fully in camp life
Desired - Event Management Degree, Performance/Acting background or similar (presence on stage & confidence in delivering and engaging with an audience of 150+ students)

Working Conditions:
Rota & Days Off: Rotas and days off are scheduled by the Centre Manager. Any adjustments need their approval. Employees will work 6 days a week, with one dedicated 24-hour off period.

Working Hours: Typically 13:45 - 21:45 per day, Mon - Fri. Weekends are longer. Additional house & meal duties are on a rota basis. You'll be requested to sign an opt-out agreement for the 48-hour working week.
Welfare & Intensity: Our programmes require commitment and are action packed. Days can be long and demanding. Regardless of being on or off duty, Exsportise is committed to safeguarding and prioritising the welfare of students and staff is paramount.
Accommodation: Staff housing is provided at the course centre, single room with shared bathroom facilities.
Dress Code: When overseeing activities, sportswear is required so please avoid excessively short or revealing attire.
Alcohol, Smoking and Substance abuse: Given your role with children, the possession and consumption of alcohol and substance abuse is strictly prohibited on site or during working hours. Smoking, including the use of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) such as e-cigarettes, vapes etc. is only permitted in designated smoking areas and when off duty.
As part of onboarding, new staff are required to attend an online introductory session prior to the in-person induction and start of contract.
